After 2 1/2 weeks of deliberately ignoring the fact that another person was living in the house, Hugo finally acknowledged Nick today. His little arm and leg movements were just too tempting for the hunter to ignore any longer. Luckily, he still seems to know to keep his distance…good kitty.

Grandad Dougie!
Grandad came down from Eugene for Thanksgiving weekend. He and Nicky were adorable together. Dad couldn’t seem to get enough of the little squirt. Can’t wait for these two to be able to play together!
Thanksgiving
We had a great first Thanksgiving with Nicky this year at Nana Arlene’s (pictures here). Sam and I were so thankful that our healthy baby boy was here with us to celebrate the holiday (thankfully he came early!) and that we got to spend the weekend with both sides of the family and introduce Nicky to a few more of his relatives. Grandad came down from Oregon for the weekend and spent lots of quality time with Nicky. He also got to meet Uncle John and Aunt Michelle at Thanksgiving dinner. Nicky was thoroughly impressed with everyone and can’t wait to meet the rest of his grandparents and aunts and uncles over the next couple months!

Sleeping Beauty
Who new how much fun it could be to watch a baby sleep? Good thing too, since that’s what he spends most of the day doing. Now if we could only speed up his adjustment to sleeping through the night too…

Nick got to meet his first friend today. Both Kellen and Nicky were very excited and couldn’t wait to start running around the yard doing little boy stuff together.

Over the Foothills and Past the Dish…
…to grandma Arlene’s we go! Nick got to visit Nana Arlene and Farfar Roger this week. I think he was a hit!
Coming Home
We brought Nick home from the hospital today. Daddy did an excellent job of transporting the precious bundle safely home. Nick thought it was just too much excitement, so he slept most of the way and missed all the sights. I guess we’ll just have to show them to him later.
