Nicky’s first Christmas was a blast (pictures here). We got to spend lots of quality time with family. We were so happy that we got to celebrate with the entire Tucson and Los Altos clans. It meant a lot to have everyone in the same place for the holidays. Little Nicky is going to be disapointed to learn that everyone’s going home…he was loving having so many people to cuddle.
Uncle Nick is in town for Christmas and got to meet Nephew Nick this week. The two Nicks seemed to hit it off pretty well. You can tell Little Nicky is going to be looking up to his Uncle Nick. He’s got some big shoes to fill!
Noodle was so happy to find out earlier this week that he had yet another round of relatives to meet! Just look at how enthralled he is with Grandpa Sam…it’s love at first sight. He couldn’t get enough of all the love and attention he was getting from Grandma Cheryl and the Aunties either. What a good day!

Nicky likes to practice talking and moving…
It’s hard to believe that 1 month has already gone by (pictures here). It’s been a fun month, full of learning new things and meeting new people. In his first month, Nicky has learned to breathe, eat and poop, which is pretty monumental when you think about it. Some other accomplishments are that he added 1/3 of his birth weight, ending the month at 11 lbs 5 oz and grew 1.5 inches to 22.5 inches. He also learned how to eat from a bottle so now daddy can have fun feeding too. At the end of the month, Nicky can track things withh his eyes and has better muscle control – he can reach out to his favorite toys, hold his pacifier in his mouth and reliably get his fingers into his mouth when a paci isn’t handy. The biggest development has been that he’s figuring out that night is for sleeping. 8p to midnight is still one of his favorite times to be awake, but the rest of the night he sleeps pretty well. Last night he only woke up once between 10p and 6a…what a great 1 month birthday present for mom and dad! We’re so proud of everything our little guy has done this month and can’t wait to see what he learns next month!
Uncle Andrew came to visit last weekend. He and Nicky pretended not to like each other at first, but decided pretty quickly to be best buds. Uncle Coleman, Nicky tells me that Uncle Andrew is Dow Uncle #1…when are you going to come down to try to change his mind about that?
Nick had tons of fun meeting Jenny and Casey last weekend. These two are naturals!
