Dear Kate,
Little princess, we have the best news for you. You finally slept through the night (kind of)! I wouldn’t call it a trend yet because it’s only been a couple days but after we wake you up for your 10p bottle you’ve been sleeping until 6a! I hope this continues, but I know just to be thankful for the few nights of sleep that you’ve given us the past couple nights. I already feel like a new person. I’m not sure how many nights of sleep it will take before I feel like my inner zombie is sufficiently buried, but we’re on our way.
You’re working hard at your physical milestones. You’re so ready to be a big girl. No matter what you’re doing, you’re always anxious to be doing something trickier: you don’t want to lie down, you want to roll; you don’t want to roll, you want to sit up; you don’t want to sit, you want to stand; you don’t want to just stand, you want to twirl around and around. You’re so ready to get crawling and you keep trying to get up onto your hands and knees. That said, when you’re sleepy you’re very cuddly. You still love to be rocked to sleep. I know that you know how to fall asleep on your own at school but you know that you can work us over a bit more when you’re at home, so you do. I love our cuddle time together before you fall asleep. You started eating baby finger foods this month too. You’ve been so interested in what we’re eating for a while now so you were so excited to get your hands (and mouth!) on some “real” food. You insist on being included when we eat dinner so you can sit there with us and eat your little baby crackers while we’re eating. You’re so pleased to be part of the action.
You had your first big trip this month and you did VERY well. We flew all the way to Virginia for your first flight and you were an angel the whole way there and most of the way back. You loved meeting all of your east coast relatives and you did a great job going with the flow on the vacation schedule. We were so proud of you! Not that we were surprised, you’re always so flexible and happy, you make it so easy on us! You always have a smile on your face and a hug and kiss waiting for us if we give you the chance. You make every day so special, sweet thing. You’re so precious to us!
