I’m always impressed at how babies are so open to learning. I’m taking my cue from Nicky and admitting that everybody makes mistakes from time to time and the best thing to do when you make mistakes is to learn from them. Here are two of my recent Mommy lessons.
Lesson #1. Today Nicky was showing off for another baby in the grocery store and managed to launch a whole pint of blue berries on the floor, where they exploded in a sticky mess. How did he get his hands on a pint of blueberries, you might ask? Oh, his mother gave it to him to play with. Judging by the look on the other mom’s face, that was the wrong move. Rookie.
Lesson #2. At dinner yesterday, Nicky let out a nice belch that surprised even himself. He then, with a look of supreme concentration, tried to do it again. He wasn’t successful at recreating a real burp, but he did get a pretty nice fake one out, and then another, and another, and another. I couldn’t help myself and let out a little giggle, thinking that just one couldn’t hurt. Oh how wrong I was. Now it’s a game. Rookie.
This is being filed under the lessons learned category…more to come for sure.
Sounds like you have a young physicist on your hands. Gravity and Newton’s Laws all in one experiment.
