Sitting

We are getting closer and closer to the elusive milestone of sitting up.  If Nicky’s positioned just right, he can sometimes hold a sit for a few seconds before toppling over.  I’d guess that in another month he’ll have earned his unassisted sitting badge.

Swimming!

We took Nicky to the JCC this weekend to try swimming for the first time.  He thought it was pretty cool, but not that much different from taking a giant bath.  Looks like he’s a natural…  next time we’ll need to take a water polo ball and start teaching him the basics.

Mother’s Day

Sam and Nicky cooked up a fantastic mother’s day weekend for me all centered around getting to spend time with the perfect little boy that made me a mom and his awesome daddy.  The weather wasn’t great so we spent the day inside doing lots of firsts: first green beans, first swimming pool and first artwork.  As always, it was tons of fun being with my two favorite guys!

Joe Six Pack

Speaking of working out, Nicky loves doing crunches these days.  Whenever he’s on his back he lifts his little head up and flexs his abs.  I think he’s trying to stay in shape so he can impress the ladies at play group…

Rolly Poly

Nicky has already mastered rolling from back to front and is SO close to being able to roll over front to back.  We’re excited for him to learn this new skill because then he’ll be able to rescue himself when he accidentally rolls over onto his tummy in the middle of the night.  As it is now, he calls us in once or twice a night to flip him over.  He pretty much has the theory down, so he just needs to log the hours practicing!  Check out how much he gets his little butt into it before he realizes he should lead with his shoulder…looks like a good work out!

Germs

Nick survived his first fever!  He made it 1 week in day care before coming home with his first runny nose, and 2 weeks before coming home with his first fever.  Our little boy is a trooper though and didn’t let it get him down.  He actually seemed to enjoy his mini vacation staying home from day care.  We loved getting to stay home with him too, but juggling a sick kid and trying to work from home is a whole new dimension on the working mom thing…it definitely isn’t easy!
