Good morning Nicky!

Little Nicky is not a quiet sleeper.  We captured some of the cuter noises he makes here.  He’s added a few beautiful sounds to his repertoire since this video was taken — my personal favorite is the grunt that sounds like a sea lion being strangled.  Lovely…

Well, we survived our first solo outing together today…barely.  Just about everything that could go wrong did, including side out poo diaper, poorly packed diaper bag with no extra clothes or burp cloth, hungry baby 1 hour after his last feeding instead of 3 hours after (throwing off my carefully planned timeline and causing a melt down in the middle of Target) and to add insult to injury, a lost hat.  But the good news is that we made it home in one piece!  Go team!

We took Nicky to get his first Christmas tree this weekend.  The little guy was a trooper braving the 45 degree weather while getting over the tail end of his first cold.  We found a beautiful tree, murdered it, brought it home, and stuck it in our new fancy Christmas tree stand.  Now the house is all decorated and we are ready for Christmas! 

 

After 2 1/2 weeks of deliberately ignoring the fact that another person was living in the house, Hugo finally acknowledged Nick today.  His little arm and leg movements were just too tempting for the hunter to ignore any longer.  Luckily, he still seems to know to keep his distance…good kitty.
